Checkups & Cleanings

Every treatment plan we provide will start with your basic check-up and cleaning. These services are even excellent if there isn’t anything “wrong” with your smile as they can help you keep common issues like decay, cavities, and gum disease at bay. With a dental cleaning, one of our hygienists will use sophisticated tools to remove any and all plaque and tartar that has built up on your teeth. This will not only keep cavities away, but it will also help your smile maintain that lovely white color everybody loves! Also during this appointment, one of our doctors will perform a check-up, otherwise known as an oral exam. They will look at each tooth, your gums, jaw, and any existing dental work, keeping an eye out for even the smallest issue. If they spot anything, they’ll immediately be able to intervene and treat it before it has a chance to really harm your smile. With just two check-ups and cleanings each year, we can keep your smile healthy and whole for decades to come! If you are in need of a dental check-up, we’ve got you covered!

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal therapy is specifically designed to help us find, identify, and treat periodontal disease. Don’t know what periodontal disease is? It’s actually another term for gum disease, which is a bacterial infection of the gums and bone that support the teeth. It’s one of the most common dental problems in the entire world, and it’s even the leading cause of tooth loss! Early symptoms include red, swollen, and tender gums, but if left untreated, it can drastically increase a person’s chances of developing diabetes, heart disease, and even dementia!

However, thanks to periodontal therapy, we’ll be able to stop any gum disease you have way before it can become damaging. Primarily, we’ll use what is called a scaling and root planing treatment. With it, we’ll be able to break up and clear away the harmful plaque, tartar, and bacteria that has accumulated on your gum line, and then we’ll smooth out the rough surfaces of your teeth’s roots. This will dramatically lower your chances of developing serious gum disease in the future.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer is an often fatal disease that is actually extremely treatable when detected early, which is exactly why our team of doctors recommends that all adults should have at least one screening per year. They each can perform one as part of your regular checkups, during which they’ll examine your lips, gums, tongue, cheeks, neck, throat, and face for any signs of the disease. Should they find something suspicious, they can help you take quick and appropriate action.

Fluoride Treatment

For decades, fluoride has been known to help the teeth fight against decay and cavities, which is why you’ll often find it in most toothpastes and public water sources. It provides an easy and natural way to keep your smile strong against the plaque and acids it encounters every day. To give your family’s smiles a little extra protection between appointments, we’re happy to provide a quick and easy topical fluoride treatment as well that’s perfect for children and adults alike.
