Wouldn’t it be great if you could actually see what your dentist is talking about? Thanks to our intraoral camera, you finally can! This small, handheld camera can capture highly-detailed images of your teeth and gums we can then display on a nearby monitor. With this, you’ll literally gain a new perspective on your dental health, plus it will be much easier for us to explain why we might be recommending a certain treatment.
Digital X-Rays
X-rays have been a vital diagnostic tool in dentistry for decades, and thanks to digital x-rays, we’re now able to take even better care of your smile. These x-rays can create crystal clear images almost instantly, and they don’t require loads of time to be developed like they did in the past. Plus, they expose our patients (and us!) to 90% LESS radiation compared to traditional dental x-rays. And, because everything is digital, the images can be easily sent, stored, or displayed on a nearby monitor for you to go over with your dentist.
CT / Cone Beam Scanner
Sometimes, a regular X-ray just can’t give us all of the information that we need, and in these cases, we like to use our CT/cone beam scanner. This device can create a fully digital 3D image of your teeth, jaw, and other surrounding oral structures. In addition to helping us learn a lot about your dental anatomy, it’s just really cool to see! More importantly, this kind of image also helps us formulate precise treatment plans for complicated procedures such as dental implant placement or wisdom tooth extraction.
